Family Court Bills

Major reforms to the Family Court. The Family Court Bill 2022 has received final approval in the Oireachtas.
Once enacted, the Family Court Bill 2022 will provide for the commencement of Family Court Divisions within the existing structures, a Family High Court, Family Circuit Court and a Family District Court.

There will be Judges who have specialist training or experience in dealing with family law matters that will be assigned to each of the Family Law Courts on a full-time basis.

It is envisaged that this will deal with a large element of the overcrowding in the family law list.
